How to Park Like a Cop

People mostly know me for Qysh Me, but this time I want to share a different kind of how-to, courtesy of Kosovo Police: how to park, apparently, if you’re one of them.

On Bregu i Diellit, leave your car wherever: on the road, at the corner. If it won’t start, no need to push it, just leave it in neutral. If you’re tired from the drive, feel free to stop right by Aurora and park up on the sidewalk (people can always step into the street and walk around you if they’re bothered enough). Or park directly in front of the local market, which spends all day telling its own customers not to park there because it’s not allowed. Right across from the police station itself, on Bill Clinton Boulevard, doesn’t matter that the other side of the street is reserved parking for them specifically, since apparently none of this draws any attention anyway. One more spotted waiting at a red light in Pristina. Others photographed in Skenderaj and elsewhere.

So what are we supposed to do as citizens? Where do we even complain? Is this actually allowed? Why are we the ones getting fined for parking exactly the way you do?

We’re tired too, we’re in a rush too, we want a byrek too, we’re waiting on someone who’s running late too. “Because the police are the law.”
