Four years after we launched Qysh Me, the Facebook page crossed 100,000 likes. For a how-to portal in Albanian, built by a tiny team with no budget, that number felt enormous. I want to write down what it actually meant, because the milestone taught me more than the growth itself did.
It took four years, and that is the point
There was no viral moment that got us here. No single post that exploded, no clever trick. It was four years of showing up: useful posts, consistently, answering people, and slowly earning trust. A hundred thousand people did not arrive in a week. They arrived a few at a time, over years, because we kept being helpful.
That slow accumulation is easy to undervalue while you are in it. Each month’s growth looked small. Only looking back did the compounding become obvious.
What the number really represented
A like is a vanity metric on its own. What made this one meaningful was what sat behind it: a hundred thousand people who had decided that a small Albanian how-to project was worth hearing from. That is trust, at a scale I would not have believed when we started. It meant that when someone had a question, there was a real chance our answer would reach them.
For a language and a community that the internet had mostly overlooked, that reach was the whole mission working.
What the milestone taught me
- Consistency beats intensity. The steady drip of useful content outperformed anything flashy.
- Trust compounds like interest. Every helpful post made the next reader slightly more likely to stay.
- Audience is an asset you build, not buy. We could not have paid our way to this. We earned it.
- Celebrate the milestone, then keep going. A number is a marker on a longer road, not a finish line.
What I recommend
If you are early in building an audience and the growth feels slow, keep going. The most valuable audiences are built patiently, one useful interaction at a time, and they compound in a way that shortcuts never do. Crossing 100,000 likes with Qysh Me was proof of that, and it remains one of the results I am proudest of.
